Dental question.?

What is better in the long run for a primary tooth thats nerve is dying: a root canal and repositioning or a removal and a space maintainer?

Dental question.?
Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years. MY feeling is a removal and spacer. Why pay for a root canal on a tooth that will be removed when a spacer is 1/4 the cost. There is no point to Root canal a baby tooth if a spacer will to the same at so much less. The adult tooth will come in healthy and in place and there is no reason to spend the monies, IMO. I do not do it, won't do it and my patients appreciate my honesty. Just my thoughts. Marie
Reply:with a primary tooth they dont actually do root canals it call a pulpotomy and they will

then put a temp (silver) cap which will maintain the space .
