Abscess Tooth & Extraction?

I went to my dentist today for a look at my abscess, they said it was a pretty normal abscess. I found out that my tooth with the abscess is actually a primary/first tooth. I have been taking clindamycin for a day now and he wants me to come in tomorrow to pull the tooth because it has a cavity too and is not repairable. My question is it normal to have a tooth pulled while I still have the abscess infection going on? I know my dentist is the one telling me this, but just wanted some opinions. Being this tooth is a "baby" tooth and my infection was normal I assume all will be well. Thanks for input all :)

Abscess Tooth %26amp; Extraction?
its alright to have ur baby tooth pulled out, since its creating such a problem, and the baby tooths roots arent there either, its jus hanging in place. ur set of permanent teeth when u grow older have no use of the baby teeth
Reply:Baby tooth doesn't have a root so should be no problem.
Reply:My dentist has always told me that he can NOT pull a tooth while there is still infection. I'd question this a little more with your dentist.
Reply:Brush and you wouldn't have had this problem.
Reply:If you don't get it pulled, the abscess won't go away, it will only get worse. The cavity if not taken care of will only continue to rot......get it removed.
Reply:yes this is fine. My mother had 2 sets of baby teeth and when she was in high school had to get them all pulled some witch still had abscess
Reply:If the infection is well-isolated and insignificant extraction ought not be an issue. However, it would be advisable to continue and complete the full course of your antibiotic without fail.
Reply:I had to have mine pulled but I am pretty sure I was on antibiotics for a week before they pulled it. Also, I would have them put you asleep. A dentist tried to pull mine for 20 minutes, she couldnt get it, I had half a tooth left after she was done. She sent me to have it surgically removed a day later.
Reply:If it was a permanent tooth, no. since it's a baby tooth, it's ok.
