Dentists in the uk.?

Our dentist after he had given you a check up used to clean and polish your teeth ,now since the new contract he doesn`t phone d the localpct (primary care trust) and they said he should , whren I told them he offers this service for £28.00 they said he was acting illegaly and that i should give them his name. I refused at the time because he is the only NHS dentist for miles around and I can`t afford to be knocked of his list and pay for private treatment . has anyone else had a similar experience.
