Is there any way to promote tooth growth so that baby teeth fall out faster?


My son has a speech problem related to his 2 top teeth that never grew in properly and the only way for his speech to improve is for his teeth to fall out and the new ones to come in.


I would like to know if there is a way to speed up this process, he is 4yrs old and it has negative affects on him going to school and he already sees a speech therapist but it doesn't do a whole lot of good.


His grandmother still has some of her primary teeth(baby ones and she is 68yrs old) and i would hate for my son to be stuck with the teeth that are holding him back.


Any ideas anyone?

As far as I know there is no way to speed it up, they fall out when they are ready. For the speech issue, have you thought of continuing the speech therapy? Even the worst speech impediments can be lessened by a good therapist and diligent parents who are willing to commit the time and effort to continuing the therapy in the home. Speech therapy takes time, but it is very much worth it. On the chance that his speech isn't improved on it's own when his adult teeth grow in you will still be looking at speech therapy. In that case the road will be much rougher since the negative speech habits will be more thoroughly ingrained into his mind.
Reply:No there is no way to make his teeth fall out faster. They will fall out sometime between 5 and 8 depending on when they came in.
Reply:I would talk to a dentist that specializes in children. There maybe something else that they can to to help resolve the problem. The only way I know to get teeth out before there time is to pull them but I don't think you want to go that far with your little one. The Dentist might have something not as tramatic.
Reply:NO UNLESS YU WANT HIS TEETH REMOVED SURGICALLY, BUT THAT WOULD MEES EVERYTHING UP, BETTER FOR HIM TO LEARN TO WRITE FASTER, AND WAIT FOR HIS TEETH TO GROW OUT. (HAVE HIME WRITE EVERYTHING) IT WILL GIVE HIM SOME GOOD PRACTICE
Reply:Why don't you just take him and have them pulled out?? He's old enough now to get Nitrous oxide (sp) so he's calm in the dentist chair and they'll numb him up good and pull out the problem ones so he can improve his speech and his adult teeth will come in a few years. I had a eye tooth that wouldnt fall out so the adult one was coming in above it. they pulled out the baby tooth so the adult one would fall a little into place.
