Whereas the primary motive for teeth brushing for many is tor retain whiteness; is it true rigorous brushing?

can yellow teeth through brushing away of enamel, so it is better to underbrush than over brush, as yellow staining caused by lack of brushing can be easily removed but yellow dentin showing through after brushing away of enamel is forever?

Yes, it is best to do gentle circles while pointing the toothbrush bristles right where the gums and tooth meet. Yes, if you brush with a medium or hard bristled toothbrush instead of a soft or brush pressing too hard or the vigorous scrub brush technique you can brush away enamel and the dentin will show through that is very yellow. Brushing is primarily to remove plaque b/c it contains bacteria which can produce acid and make cavities.
Reply:The primary motive to brush is to have HEALTHY teeth. You don't want your teeth falling out, do you?

Just because your teeth are yellow doesn't mean that they aren't healthy. Yellowing can occur due to the foods we eat and drink. Like people who drink alot of tea and coffee will experience yellowing.

Brushing too hard can cause damage over time like bleeding and loss of enamel from the tooth which doesn't grow back. Brushing too softly isn't good either. If you don't brush hard enough, you aren't really doing to job and you will still have plaque and germs on your teeth and gums.

If you want a brighter smile, just use a whitening tooth paste or Crest white strips work wonders if you are willing to pay $30.

I hope that answers your questions.
Reply:Use a soft toothbrush and a good fluoride toothpaste. Brush thoroughly but not overly hard to avoid enamel damage.

Not only can you damage your enamel, heavy-handed brushing with too-stiff a brush can damage your gingiva (gums), and the result can be sensitivity to cold, because you've actually pushed your gingiva back and exposed the sensitive root area.

Brushing and flossing are primarily to clean and remove food residue and plaque from the teeth.

Use whitening products according to direction and you can safely lighten the teeth -- but you should have clean teeth to begin with.

By the way, everyone's teeth will darken slightly as they age, but it's much more pronounced with smoking or coffee/tea drinking.
