I'm playing a trivia game and need to know.

On average in North America, how much money does the tooth fairy give every child for a primary tooth?
FIVE dollars????

I give my children one dollar per tooth, and from what they tell me, that's a lot more than what the tooth fairy gives their classmates. Their classmates range from a quarter to 50 cents. And we're in a suburban, university town, too.
Reply:One dollar.
Reply:damn I thought it was like 25 cents. It used to be 10 cents. damn inflation... What year is the trivia game based on?
Reply:As a dad, I always went with $2. Some people think that's a lot, but kids only have twenty baby-teeth. $40 isn't that much over the course of 6-8 years.
Reply:Five bucks
Reply:I don't get nothing. My dad said if he paid me I'd probably pull all my teeth out and he would have to buy false teeth for me. Besides he says grownups shouldn't lie to kids about stuff. They might grow up to be a politician
Reply:A Google search of "how much does the tooth fairy give?" reveals that this question has come up on Yahoo! Answers many times before.

There are other links on there which you might want to follow. Most the sites seem to just give opinions, though, and no cold, hard facts.

By far the coolest thing I ever got from the tooth fairy was a Franc---my mom told me that some little girl in France must have gotten a dollar!

But that doesn't answer your question . . . what era is this trivia game from? When I was a kid, it was probably 25 to 50 cents, but it's probably something ridiculous like $3 now.

This was a lot harder to find than I expected it to be. I would just look on the answer to the question and then stump all your friends. ;)
Reply:my niece just got $% from the tooth fairy, and she lost two teeth!!! she came out with ten bucks from the tooth fairy! because her aunts gave her 20 bucks each when she told them she had a loose tooth. She ended up getting $50 dollars. I have to work several hours before I get that much money

%$@^ tooth fairy.
Reply:My mom used to give me 2-5 dollars. 2 for the smaller-baby teeth, and 5 for molars.
Reply:When I was very little, it was 25 cents a tooth. Then it got up to a dollar a tooth. Then I realized that the tooth fairy gave me $5 at my grandma's house and I told my parents that I was saving them for grammys house... and then all of a sudden I was getting $5 everywhere. Muahahaha!
Reply:Depends on when, and how old. It used to be a quarter, and more for an older kid.

Recently, I've heard of kids getting $20 for a tooth, but that is probably on the high end...
